The Three Little Pigs Build It Strong

Music Video

Lyrics

Lyric

Three little pigs went out one day,
Each to build their home their way.

Straw house pig said, “Quick and done!”
But the wolf came — “Run, run, run!”

Build it strong, build it strong,
Sing this building song!
Build it strong, build it strong,
And you’ll be safe all day long!

Stick house pig said, “Looks okay!”
But the wolf blew it away!

Brick house pig worked all day,
Now the wolf can’t blow away!

Huff and puff — it stays tall,
Brick by brick, won’t fall!

Build it strong, build it strong,
And you’ll be safe all day long!

THE STORY

The Three Little Pigs

An old sow sent her three little pigs out into the world to seek their fortunes. The first little pig was lazy and, wanting to finish quickly, built his house out of straw. The second little pig, who preferred play over work, built his house a bit stronger out of sticks. Soon, both were finished and spent their days singing and dancing. The third little pig, who was diligent and prudent, worked hard to build his house out of sturdy bricks.

Before long, a hungry wolf came along. Spotting the straw house, he called out, “Little pig, little pig, let me come in!” But the pig refused. “Then I’ll huff, and I’ll puff, and I’ll blow your house in!” roared the wolf. With one great breath, he blew the straw house to pieces. The first little pig fled to his brother’s house of sticks. The wolf followed, repeated his threat, and with two huffs and puffs, the stick house was also destroyed.

The two terrified pigs scrambled to the safety of their brother’s brick house. The wolf, confident and fierce, arrived and threatened to blow it down. He huffed and he puffed with all his might, but he could not blow the strong brick house down. Exhausted and furious, the wolf tried to come down the chimney. But the clever third little pig had a pot of boiling water waiting in the fireplace. The wolf fell right in, and that was the end of him. The two idle pigs learned their lesson, and the three lived safely ever after in the sturdy brick house.
